The recent share price activity tells me

the future for HBC looks bleak so don't waste your time or money on this dog. The Vancouver store sale will probably never get done, even the Asian buyer isn't stupid enough to pay $675 million for a property that has a historical designation and therefore future development is limited. At one time I considered Richard Baker a real estate genius but now he's just another dreamer that doesn't realize retail real estate is overbuilt and overpriced.

I guess your right and the market is wrong, the stock is going up in a steady manner.  The have an offer for the European Business. They have an activist professional hedge fund that values them at 35 dollars a share.  They have a store for sale, that just went though a bid process and no one know what it sold for you but it could be quite a bit.  Your telling us your the ...more

Honey Pot most of what you state is merely wishful thinking, the activist shareholder you refer to is Land and Buildings and they have been cut off at the knees by Richard Baker and they would no doubt like to get out of this piece of garbage, the buyer of the European assets was turned down a few months ago. The recent sale of Gilt resulted in a substantial loss for HBC, and although shareholders ...more
