First, like I often do, Peep2 made a typo, above used ‘CHN’ rather than ‘CNH’.

Being a little unsure of exactly what we were talking about, I Googled ‘CNH’ and nothing sensible appeared for many pages.

CNH is the symbol for the offshore Chinese Renminbi, often referred to as the Yuan.
CNY is the symbol when trading inside of China.
-
In this case, Hong Kong, is considered outside of China.

CNH, CNY, Renmimbi, Yuan
It seems strange.
