not worth 3 dollars. I think as the report stated, without a discount its worth 2.50. I think a 1 dollar offer is out and the in people know it.May pass IMHO.

Buyout ruour would explain the recent run up. A $1 buyout offer would also explain the sell order at 98 cents. If it turns out to be untrue, what level do you all think it will "correct" back to?

I think it will "correct" to $2.68 and have no facts to substantiate that, other than my strong personal desire to see it there.

If the $1 buyout is an unsubstantiated rumour the stock price should drop back to the 50 cent level, IMO. If it is true, the stock should flatline at $1. But I think though that if Severstal+Polenica are offering, it won't be more than a few pennies, IMO. There is no need for the to pay any more. Why pay $1 when you can pay 1 penny? If the offer is from another party, and less than ...more

We have been through this discussion before. If there is a buyout offer, Severstalwould be unable to vote their shares. I think Polencia may be able to vote theirshares but in any event I think the minority shareholders could vote it down!

So the 400M shares Severstal has are non-voting? Would they would invest heavily and give up that control? Can someone else confirm this please.

Stock prices don't only appreciate based on buyout rumours. There are many other reasons for a rise in share price....and please don't ask the board to explain what those may be if you don't know already. ----------Original Message Posted 1/7/2010 4:24:18 PM---------- If the $1 buyout is an unsubstantiated rumour the stock price should drop back to the 50 cent level, IMO. Of course orderly rises are easily explained away. When a stock goes up exponentially and 60% in 5 days with no news, it begs the question: why?If this is the reason: https://www.financialpost.com/story.html?id=2349799it should have started moving 3 weeks ago when it was released. The market ignored it then, so this cannot be the reason now - 3 weeks later. What else could explain a ...more
