20 dollar stock in 12 months. That'd be swell.I just got in, at 2.30 or so - stock seems to have rolled over. 20% drop from recent peak and the volume's all but disappeared, my gut tells me that's a great buy signal.God, that makes me sound like such a newb.

Is there a typo in the Taca Taca report? Shouldn't it be 8.7 million pounds of copper?I just did the math, and if it's really billions of pounds of copper, then this company's market cap is only about 0.2% of its Taca Taca deposit's in situ value. That's before you even subtract its $8M cash and its future earn-in payments from COP.What am I doing wrong here?

Fleeinggrandich. What you are doing wrong is that you don't know how copper deposits are valued. They are worth much less thanthe LME price. As a rough guide, use 3-5 cents per pound of copper. That is what a major mining company, which is the only realistic buyer, would pay for it. With 10 billion pounds of copper, that should make the buy out price 3-500 million dollars, which is still huge ...more

krogh: Thanks for the explanation. I know Cu in the ground isn't valued at $3 or more for takeover - my problem was the huge disconnect between Cu's spot price and the present market cap. But okay, 3c/lb is about 1% of in situ, so I guess LCC still has a way to go before it can hit its proper buyout value. It's amazing how much copper we use in this world.
