I get the feeling that Anonymous is working hard to keep price down especially over last several days. Must have a hidden agenda

I don't want to look like a conspriacy theory type of person, but do you think they might be trying to make money....

You don't make a lot of money by selling at a price lower then the market is willing to pay. It like someone offering you $1.00 for something and you say no I want 90 cents and sell it for 90 cents. Strange way of making money and doing the same transaction over and over.

It's been going on all day on MAUXF. Example: Ask is 1.80, Bid is 1.79, Settling Price is 1.7728 !!! 100 shares at a time, almost all day long. Hmmmmmm. How do they make money this way? Some kind of transfer of shares? I've seen this kind of trading before but could never figure out what is going on. Anybody? https://ih.advfn.com/p.php?pid=trades&symbol=NO ...more

Maybe this is an owner booking capital gain and re buying. USA tax rates may go up in 2013 In Canada we can sell and buy back the same day to book a capital gain not sure about USA

If you sell a stock in the USA, you have to wait at least 30 days to rebuy it or the IRS does not recognize the transaction (if I remember my tax rules correctly).  It would appear that something else is going on. Bows

BUT a gain IS an issue for a US taxpayer as 2012 capital gains MAY be taxed at a lower rate than in 2013 if that part of the 'cliff' relating to taxes on capital gains go up after dec 31st. Hopefully however the prospect for further gains in 2013 might equal those obtained to date!!! but that again demonstrates why US investors might sell now or at least before the prescribed last day for ...more

You never buy or sell an investment based on tax rules . Why wiuld you pay taxes on a holding now by selling then rebuying in 30 to 45  days . First you are risking prices could go up during the 30 days especially when in this case possibly a lot of good news is to come in next 30 days like pipeline signing, 3rd guarter, um 10 flows, move from venture exchange and new fields. Secondly why not ...more

Agree with you.  Why would anonymous be selling 1 or 2 cents lower than the bidding price, all day long, 100 shares at a time (4 decimal places)?!?!  To save on capital gains?  hehehhe.  To me it looks like a transfer of shares between two institutions at a predetermined price, or just plain manipulation to keep the price down (unlikely imo.).   They figure if some ...more

Personally i wasn't saying that was happening here just why US holders of any stock would be considering selling stocks with gains in this fy as the capital gains tax change into 2013 is a certainty as it is an immediate reversion to former tax rates under the sequester deal. As to these conspiracy theories on Anon et al, the market is a pit of demand and supply so if Anon has a seller down to ...more

You can always sell at 1 to 2 cents below ask for this type of stock . Strange to be done mainly in 100 share blocks. No certainty on tax increases as a deal has to be made with Republicans as both parties know that a return to old rates will probably create a recession in the US and more then likely the world. Comprimise will happen.

"You can always sell at 1 to 2 cents below ask for this type of stock ." Off course you can, but my point is that they're selling 1 to 2 cents below the bid (not the ask). Ok, I'll try to make it clearer. The farmer has a truck full of apples. He is asking 1.80 per apple. There are many people offering 1.79 per apple. So the farmer instead of selling those apples for 1.79 each, ...more

I think we are both sayng the same that this type of trading does not make sense however I think it is time to move on and wait for all the great news to come over the next month. The news will reward all who held on and beleive in MMT over the long term as I do along with many on this board. BOL

Got 1 for clarity.  hmmmm. Guess I wasn't clear enough.  Ok, so here it goes again................ hehehe.  I'll spare you.  You're right Grandpama, so long as we make money in the months to come.  Time to move on. GL
