Corebox

Corebox 3D Drill Images

Corebox 3D models have some very useful features for investors, when viewing the progression of drill campaigns, in particular:

  • Corebox 3D models show how a deposit's intercepts line up with each other (or don't). Using the 3D model, it's easy to see how new results relate to previous intercepts, and the significance of each hole becomes apparent. To make it easy to identify the most recently reported intercepts, new intercepts are shown in blue and the previously reported intercepts are shown in orange.
  • Most advanced projects have a block model resource estimate compiled. This tool illustrates block model data in section. By changing the cutoff control at the bottom of the window, investors can determine the locations of the blocks above a selected cut-off grade. Blocks remaining together (and, in the case of open pits near surface) are a promising feature. Conversely, where blocks above cut-off are separated by lower grade blocks more caution is required.
The drill features of many mining companies are illustrated in 3D on the Corebox site.
Therefore, I was very interested to hear the following comments from Metanor director Ron Perry’s, when interviewed by Jay Taylor in April 2010:-

Excerpt from the Jay Taylor Gold Newsletter  4-9-10    :
Extract from Interview of Metanor’s Ron Perry by Jay Taylor

Ron: I will go right into it, Jay. At Barry right now, the key thing that’s pending now is an updated NI 43-101 resource report. We expect news, the final numbers, before the end, in a month, which we will make public.
Don’t hold me to the date—but there is also a geological program called the Core Box here in Vald’Or, at which event we will display the geological model for the Barry Deposit as well. One of our major shareholders is a geologist and representing a fund and wants us to do that. So we will show the deposit to the world, because we think the potential here is still great. So the updated 43- 101 numbers are not yet in, but that is something that's eminent. We expect to have them by the end of this month. I think, for your readers, listeners, and our investors, it's a key thing. I think it could be a turning point for the stock.

Just had breakfast in Bristol UK - I hope that you do not set your alarm by Metanor posts, otherwise I will delay in future! The old info was reposted, as it related to Geodan2's post yesterday...... Is there hole numbering a grid?  If so can figure out where the new hole is.   Am trying to get someone at Metanor to ask these questions, no call backs yet. Read more at https ...more

JRaffles,  Thanks.  Do get why you posted, they have CoreBox, and have for 5 years.  So they could provide a 3D model of drill paths and ore body hits/projections, and did so for Barry.  I presume that other mining companies use it for there presentations have seen, such as CLGRF. There are 3D PDFs, very kool.  I use for engineering drawings of inventions and prototypes.  ...more
