KL Q2 MDA reference to MTO investment

On page 22 of KL's Q2 MDA, it states ..... [my underline]

".... the company invested a total of $12.7 million with respect to strategic investments in certain publicly held and private corporationswith a view to creating long term shareholder value.  These investments form part of the company's strategy to seek exposure to quality gold exploration and development projects for future growth opportunities....."

Nice find ...JRafflesUK... Some people around here still don't get it... the big money is moving in ...Bastyboy thinks Barry open pit will be a swimming pool with Lifeguard ...but in reality it will be his wake up call.... I believe the Barry Open Pit shovel.... tolls for the troll ...and if he looks close enough ...he will see the MTO stamp of approval on the bottom of the shovel... Have ...more

Bob, big money moved in 18 months ago and nothing has happened. Now the same person with some help are going to try again with a new influx of money, lets see if these guys can make it work. You also believed Osisko was going to buy out MTO buy this time last summer and that didn't happen either. Buy the way isn't in interesting that Jumpem dis-appears for a few days and so do all of the ...more

Hey Fruit you have to see they are positioned better now with new management....as far as OSK goes they had their chance ...just like MTO did with Windfall ...sometimes you wait to long and someone else gets there first...I like the Sprott KL connection ...this month will be telling in which direction the company takes...IMHO I guess Team Europe is on Vacation...lol Whats your take on MTO ? Wait ...more

Bob, yes, it's wait and see. Besides, all my other long term investments are performing well at the moment, plus I believe they will have more upside then MTO going forward. Mariana Resources got recently bought out by SSL, which has also been moving up nicely. With the price of copper on the move, EGI and TRQ have also had some nice gains with TRQ showing some amazing strength as of late. It ...more

Always good to make your money back ...good for you ! So seeing how things have changed here ...one would think anything under .80 cents looks like a good risk vs reward ...debenture paid off ...and yes I agree lots of questions ...like I said in a earlier post myself... I think by end of month we will know the direction the company is going to take...and its not drill results... that I am ...more

I bought MTO based on Kirkland´s investment. So far KL´s investments/buyouts have been pure gold (no pun intended).

Bob, yes, some things have changed, but some things haven't. Yes, new management, a new big investor, no debt and a new share structure but that was at the burden/expense of retail shareholders. Many of the other issues still remain and it's going to take some time to fix all of them. I don't think they are all going to be solved in the month of August. Plus it's just a small ...more

The thing I find the hardest about being a very inexperienced investor is doing the DD.  I'm reading books about the process but still find some of the concepts and key metrics to look at confusing.  Unfortunately, it's way easier to spend time keeping track records of some of the other posters and see how they're investments are doing than doing the research myself.  My ...more
