Breakfast and lunch
Per the rumour, McD was testing it in the kitchen area during the breakfast and lunch periods. The only way they'd know if it detected virus is if someone working there has it and could be tested afterward or tested positive beforehand. McD surely wouldn't put someone they knew had the virus in the kitchen just to test a new machine. So maybe they were trying to get a handle on false positives -- would the things floating around in the air, the aromas and ingredients and heat, set off the alarm. I'm betting they didn't set off the alarm and this part of the process concluded satisfactorily..

A second poster on the yahoo board is claiming to have seen it (and a guy in a biocloud shirt), but he couldn't take a picture because it was in an employee only area. Sounds sketchy. If he could see the unit with his own eyes, and the guy in the shirt, surely he could have snapped a picture of them.

Yes - I do think it makes a lot of sense, and I could definitely see McDonalds being the restaurant to do it, if any resturant was. Just seeing some classic signs of false reporting in the poster's posts. Seems like something is going to drop any day now though . . .

Furthermore, the poster said it "looked like they were getting ready to transport it". Pfttt. That is some fishy smelly fish.

If they tested it during breakfast and lunch it would make perfect sense that they'd remove it after lunch. I give the rumour a 50-50 shot of being legit.

This is quite interesting. Imagine someone actually seeing one with their own eyes there at this point in time. They'd probably sell all their other stocks just to buy more.

I have spoken with someone who has seen photos of the unit in the Hamilton Rd McDonalds. He commented that it was likely being tested there and that it would definitely be removed at the end of the day. Leaving it there would be smelly filet o fishees!
