Will Pala take NCU private?

It's strange that NCU hasn't moved up like other copper stocks.   Yes, there are start-up problems to resolve - like any new mine going into production - but the underlying value is there.

I see a possible similar scenario to when Pala bought Cobalt 27 at a discount price: purchasing all the cobalt and cobalt royalties of Cobalt 27, and spinning out to the minority shareholders their nickel interest in Ramu and a few other royalties, valuing the spin-off shares at $1.80.  For the past few years these shares have traded around 30-40 cents, rising of late - with the interest in nickel - to around 70 cents.  But, now that cobalt is rising, Pala has a nice gain, with significant upside potential.

Altho there is nothing to spin-out of NCU, I could see Pala and Castelake put in a lowball bid - and maybe as low 25-30 cents - to acquire NCU.  They'd be the easiest way to recoup their losses in the project,by 1) taking control and reaping the long term benefits of expected high copper prices or 2) after, getting the UG operations running smoothly, and developing the OP plans further, sell the entity to a larger copper player.

Pala and Castlelake's to essentially control NCU and to fund PPs with extremely attractive terms for themselves is a sign to most institutional investors to stay away from NCU, keeping the price low and presenting the opportunity for Pala to buy NCU cheap.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, given how I was burned in Cobalt 27, but if Pala succeeded once, I can see them pulling the same trick a second time.

Could well b. They have tge shares to pass a vote. The prob is that they have to pay market value. So if a hud bay type offered a buck, pala would need to beat that. nf

Years back I was indirectly involved in some acquisitions and was always amazed how investment banks could provide fairness opinions for very low purchase prices.   NCU has dropped 25% in 2 weeks.  Miining stocks are out of favor, but this dramatic drop is disconcerting.

As we are minority shareholders, how to be against pala share price manipulation. The authorities should do something protect us.
