Extremely Poor Analyst Coverage on NVS

Any of you that are CFA Charterholders would know that the analysts made two bvious mistakes - saw this before the takeout news:

1) Grouping
2)  Anchoring

1) Grouping:  Analyst A target:  $1.30.  Analyst B target $1.10.  So analyst C fearing his job goes $1.20.  Very weak move but happens all too often.

2) Anchoring:  They made an initial target but were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too low.  So rather than own up, they keep their targets low EVEN AFTER TAKEOUT NEWS so they don't have to go back on their words.  Save face etc...

ALL ESTIMATES BASED ON MKT CAP/BOE/D???????  WTF!!!!  DOESN'T TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THIS COMPANY HAS + 700 TARGETS!!!!!  YOU CAN'T SIMPLY BASE BUYOUT PRICE ON CURRENT PRODUCTION!!!!  SOME COMPANIES HAVE ZERO PRODUCTION AND GET BOUGHT OUT BECAUSE OF LAND PACKAGE!!!!!

Anyways, disappointing.  These anaylysts need to own up like men.  Seriously....  Not good for domestic industry either.

This company has huge potential.  Letting it go at below $2.00 would be a huge disappointment.

Really hope those weak analyst targets didn't sway the chinese offer. Or maybe it worked the other way around... Unhappy with this price, and I ...more
