Transitional Technology?

Wind power is a transitional technology that should be phased out because the turbines are "ugly," Germany's conservative chancellor candidate, Friedrich Merz, said on Thursday evening.

"I even believe that if we do things right, one day we can dismantle the wind turbines because they are ugly and because they do not fit into the landscape," he told public broadcaster ZDF's talk show host Maybrit Illner.

"This is a transitional technology", Merz added.

His solution? look into testing nuclear fusion in Germany. Good luck with that.   Nuclear fusion may be a new concept to many, but scientists have been working on it since the 1940s.    However, they have faced a tough challenge: how to produce more energy than it takes to create it. It almost seemed like an insurmountable challenge.   Reminds me of ...more
