Oromin Explorations Ltd > TGZ has always wanted OLE...

TGZ has always wanted OLE...

because of the dozens of obvious reasons we have discussed here in the past.  Majors and mid tier producers also see the value here mainly because of the already bulit and paid for mill (1+1=3).  I can understand TGZ wanting to do a deal with OLE and no one else but what if a major comes around and does a hostile bid for both as has been rumored IAG might do.  It looks like it will be who wants OLE more. TGZ or a major wanting both.  Not a bad position to be in.

My point is, why would a major wait and have to pay maybe 50% to 100% more in a year or two for what they can take now on the cheap by taking advantage of both companies low valuations.

I agree with parks as far as his 60 day window (I have been saying Spring since December) and also agree that it will probably be somewhere around $1.50 ( as you all know I have been saying that amount for about a year now).  Thanks for the info parks.

I would not be surprised if OLE winds up in the hands of a company not cotemplated on this board. A larger company without exposure to Africa can buy both OLE and TGZ and create an immiedate presence there.

Tony --- Stop crowing about your guesstimation agreeing with Mackie"s latest target price for Ole-----whose target prices seem to change significantly with each new release.....Mackie has been way overpriced on their target price many many times------They could just be way underpriced on their latest one.........In any event , Mackie has lost a lot of credibility IMO.......Yet you seem to ...more

newmont has publicly stated that they want to grow in africa. aren't they the world's biggest gold company? they could afford chet's price.

anything under $3.00 isn't going to happen. Chet doesn't care about the current valuations. "If he builds it, they will come" This stock isn't for the baby boomers. We could be here for a while.

You may be right roro.  With OLE you can expect the unexpected.  Arlene, I am not crowing or comparing my $1.50 target to Mackie's target.  All of you guys know I have been sitting on that target for about a year now.  I have been the conservative one on this board.   Do you not think that Mackie's target is influenced in any way by discussions with OLE and ...more

Tony---Yes , I do believe Mackie's target price is based on a number of factors , including those you mentioned.....    But bottom line , they have lost credibilty.......as they had those discussions on all their previous target prices which subsequently got changed significantly.......

To be honest with you arlene I have never considered Mackie to be very credible. Those one page reports they put out are not very informative at all.  They have however correctly (in my opinion) adjusted OLE's price target down a couple of times in the past two years to reflect the bad gold exploration environment we are going through.  I got into OLE thinking we ...more

Arlene:   I would prefer to see us hit your predicted buyout numbers, but with no drilling and a $5 million loan at 12% as our only leverage, I feel PG and Mackie, are setting us up for what is probably going to happen.   You talk about Chet's "suprise to the upside", i would love to see that happen, but after 5-7 years of being in this stock, I have only seen Chet ...more

Tony, no disrespect taken. Too be honest with you, I've considered Mackie to be more credible than you. Your opinions have been all over the board, it's a challenge to keep up with. I would be upset too if I had a buy and hold strategy. This stock isn't for the baby boomers. Lucky for me, I'm content with maximizing my investment from 2004. Chet is a lot like MJ, he won't ...more

Hey Hucklebarry I may not be the most credible on this board but at least I try to come up with different scenarios of what I believe is possible and attempt to get other posters views. As far as my "opinions being all over the board". I have always since day one thought that TGZ would be the logical buyer. Only recently (in the past months) have I said that it makes sense for ...more

Thanks space.  For whatever it is worth arlene is a man.  A decent man with unrealistic expectations on OLE.  It would be great to get what he expects to get but we must settle for what the market and several other factors determine we are worth and move on.

Tony-----Thx for the kind words.....FWIW , I consider you to be one of the most credible/knowledgeable posters on this site........As you know , you are not alone in your opinion that my expectations on Ole are unrealistic....However , they too , are what they are...     Best Regards , Arlene2
