Snap Lake produced 1.2 million carats last year. I'm sure unprofitability was the main reason for closure. Anglo is just about to cuts it dividend...A company trying to pay down debt and not go broke in this cycle= desperate moves. On the flipside...De Beers is trying to curtail production on purpose to try to reduce supply in the market. Best way for Gahcho to continue full steam ahead is ...more

I read  they were using parts of the mine to store water with elevated levels of toxins of which was blocking access to portions of the ore body. Sounds like a screw up from the get go.
