DDC Share buyback

That hedge fund is not pushing DDC to buy up exploration plays, they are pushing for DDC to put a share buy-back policy in place to act as a support for the stock price. That is what they are talking about when they say "missed opporunities", they are a HEDGE FUND they dont want to be exposed to a dangerous exploration play that may take YEARS to get cash flowing/impact share price.

Think about it. They have $300-mil in the bank (roughly) if they DID buy a stake in PGD they would then be on the hook for a % of the development which would be greater than the Jay pipe development costs as well as timeframe.

This whole thing is about share buy-back and has NOTHING to do with buying up a junior explorer at reduced prices.

A DDC buy back is nothing more than a waste  of capital. Lets see I mine out my ore inventory every day down to zero as Jay is uneconomic. So to fool my investors I will do a share buy back on a shrinking asset??? Is DDC is the money management business or the mining business? Mining companies are valued on reserves not stock buy backs on a shrinking asset base.

James - You're like a hooker standing at the corner of Howe Street trying to flog the goods! Give it up! Nobody's going to buy or JV with PGD. Least of all DDC, KDI, etc. Prepare for the long-haul with crushing dilution for those unwilling to participate in rights issues. Chidliak will cost over $1 billion to develop - and the shareholders will have to pay for this. Happy New Year!

Hmmmm, I've lived my whole life in Van area and I don't remember seeing any hookers standing on Howe street....maybe that's changed in the last little while?  Oh wait, the Pez kinda did, but I think he was more like a pimp....

Have to agree with you on this Kidlapik, no one is 'looking' at PGD at this stage of the exploration.  These posts are not about the company, unfortunately, they only display a narcissistic personality disorder.   With the lull in the trading week, and people preparing for hangovers, I think news will be next week.  See you in the new year.

I would not say that no one is looking. But anyone with a little sense of reality knows that the Friedlands will want pretty close to full price for this one. They will have to prove that the price is worth it before the interested parties will commit.
