Some more to chew on from the DD guys: Per the JV agreement, SPX has rights to sell (and keep the revenue/profit/loss) 100G and 200G OEs worldwide, and 400G in Asian territories.  For 400G engines outside of Asian territory, POET must purchase the OEs from SPX first (SPX must approve the customer, too). cannot include stacking, because then Poet will never generate any sales ever. so, logically speaking, no. but, who knows what it actually will be.

They've already created an 800G receive engine and I would think an 800G transmit engine is in the works.  The companies they are working with have much deeper pockets so I don't think they would get involved if it meant dealing with a Chinese middleman so to speak.

If the eye is on the prize then the money to buy out SPX would be better spent on a manufacturing facility outside of China building 800G and above.  Poet gets a percentage of any sale of SPX.  Unloading their shares once it IPOs might be in the cards.  Who knows.

Depends on the conditions. If you buy SPX you can move it, you can have multiple plants in multple countries or you can just ignore SPX and start a plant in Japan or wherever. The devil is in the details nobody knows.
