Police Raid Osisko

Management of Queenston have a responsibility to the shareholders to not enter into an arrangement with a company whose business practices are not ethical and also to a much higher level of scrutiny a business who breaks the law. OSK have a cash call for $22.5M coming soon, this along with other incidents are troubling!

MONTREAL - Police participated in a raid on a major gold mine in Quebec, seizing documents related to its drilling and blasting practices Wednesday.

Provincial police moved in to grab documents at the Canadian Malartic mine, which belongs to Montreal-based Osisko Mining Corp. (TSX:OSK.TO - News)

They were joining representatives of the provincial Environment ministry.

A spokeswoman for Environment Minister Daniel Breton said the raid was prompted by allegations that the company broke the conditions of the deal that allowed it to exploit the mine.

She said departmental officials demanded documents linked to drilling and blasting from April 2011 to October 2012.

Cash call for 22million? they produced 36000oz au at about $700 above cost LAST MONTH! They will probably do it again this month! and again next month! If the big gold mine gets going right it will easily pay for payments, new mines, etc. it does sound like they may have broke a few windows with that million ton blast. They did something that has to do with blowing things up that seems to have ...more

Clifton Star can demand a $22.5 million loan from osisiko that clifton can pay back in shares valued at 3.12/sh when their stock only trades around $0.90/sh. Osisko loses $15 million immediately on this deal. Osisko is not managed well.  Hopefully their share price recovers but mgmt keeps tripping up again and again   From the October, 2012 MD&A from Clifton Star Resources: On June ...more

Not sure but isnt the malartic mine the largest producing gold mine in Canada. They just bought a another gold property with a few million onces of gold in one of many orebodies that continues to depth and length. For a poorly managed company they sure ended up with the some pretty fine assets. How do yours compare?

Malartic is the largest producing gold mine, but it has taken them so long to get it to produce, and production is not at the level that was previously scheduled. Having assets and utilizing them are 2 completely different things. I own shares of osisko and haven't been too happy with how they have been performing. They have great assets but aren't delivering on promises. YTD share price ...more

Good post deeznotz, you should post it on the Osisko bull board and get some feed back as there is some shareholders who think management is wonderful, glad I lightened up my position in Osisko back in the hurrah days, QMI is getting the screws in this deal, as Osisko is chasing the purse...$100,000,000.00 sweet for a management team that throws good money after bad consistently.
