On interlisted securities........the share volumes are pretty close on both sides with SPX.....yet another stock that I own the volume is considerably higher on the US side ( it is a Can stock ).  So with SPX are these the same shares just being shown on two different exchanges....and if so why is there a large discrepancy on other stocks that are interlisted.  Another Canadian stock that I own will sometimes trade on the OTC for thousands of shares but 0 on the Canadian exchange.

If you buy trhu the american ticker but the seller is canadian, you will see a transaction on both side. If the buy ans sell is on the amercain ticker you will see it only on the OTC. What is you other stock?

Please provide more information on the one buyer theme....and how do you arrive at that conclusion? Just need some clarity.  Thanks.

well this is not easy to explain. SPX and STLXF has the same CUSIP but different ticker for sure. For an American who wants to avoid the currency fee, it's better to buy (or sell) STLXF. But the seller may be on the TSX-V. In that case the transtion goes thru OTC ant then thru TSV. I noticed that at the opposite. when we Canadian trade on the US side, if we sell, it's count on the daily ...more
