From bvr on ST

A Connected Car (EV, ICE or AV) is basically a cell phone on wheels.

The difference is a cell phone doesn't move at 130mph. (So IVY app store is quite different from the iTunes and Google Play app stores.)

Safety certification of the Connected car is paramount! A cell phone doesn't care.

IVY is a platform of machine learning and plumbing, extracting data and transporting data safely to and from the car, to the AWS cloud where apps developer can run their apps, without having to worry about safety certification. IVY (QNX) takes care of all the safety aspects of things. BlackBerry doesn't own the data. The OEM does. OEM controls and allows app developers to use their data.

AWS also invests greatly in IOT.

IVY suits IOT, smartcities as well as connected cars. It is all about providing data analytics and a data transport platform.

It is a hard concept to grasp, so it might seem like nothing and not a reason for the share price rise.

Need to chew it a few more times.

I'm throwing it out there. I still think the real gold mine of data for Amazon will be mobile phones. I can see them wanting to enter with blackberry know how.
