Federal government should not be subsidizing any garbage companies like Bombardier with taxpayers money . They should have been bankrupted years ago.

No I am a little emigrant from former Czechoslovakia who likes Czech beer and Czech girls. Came to Canada 1989 retiring in 8 months. I like Canada and it pisses me off when everything what was good in this country is slowly disappearing.

Ha..what's disappearing ..I guess its your version that is disappearing . I don.t think they buy a lot of teslas in Alberta, but no Hydro problem in Quebec and maybe you should use all that gas to generate electricity .  Now that oil prices are high...you should be happy until the next glut . 30 % of natural gas used in canada is used to produce dirty oil from tar sands.

Wake up maplak Don't blame anyone else but Alberta and their miopic view of the world.    You are in a dying industry where you have to sell your trash oil at a huge discount while the oil companies are opportunistically price gouging the markets.   maybe Alberta should have not put their eggs all in one basket .
Comment by maplak on Nov 18, 2021 11:55am
....and how we are going to power all TESLAS. Where are we going to take energy ( hydro) from ? By jerking off plastic stick with foxes tails while watching TV before going to bed?
Comment by dreamer05 on Nov 18, 2021 10:49am
I don't call that subsidize. any money put in bu the Government, the Bomer had to give them  some percentage of ownership to Queberc, or payback   in the form of loan  interest. Do you call that sibsidize? Think about that before you say anything.

maplak, you're watching too much BNN. I have seen you on the Chorus site and I know you're from Toronto, like me, and so I understand the total hatred for this company in our city and Ontario for that matter. But, you should know that BBD has dug out of this hole on their own. No handouts above and beyond any other company during the pandemic and I don't expect any preferential ...more

That's right AC is another one. Subsidized by Canadian government years back bailing it from bankruptcy and blocking Jerry Schwartz from buying it. Finally  Schwartz bought  Westjet  and hopefully will destroy AC monopoly. Yes I owned lot CHR shares but trimmed my position lately. I am doing ok with my div paying stocks.
Comment by flamingogold on Nov 18, 2021 12:46pm
Your post is hypocritical. If government bailouts bother you that much, you should equally avoid Chorus as much since the AC bailout funds filter through that capacity agreement. It sounds to me it's ok for you as long as bailout (taxpayer) dollars makes it's way into your pocket.
Comment by maplak on Nov 18, 2021 3:20pm
Flamingogold I am hypocritical?? Chorus dropped leasing contract with AC which was signed till 2035. Giving AC favours and saving them 450 million over 10 years. So in return Chorus signed with AC capacity agreement.
Comment by flamingogold on Nov 18, 2021 5:37pm
Yes, you are a hypocrite. Chorus is benefiting fromt AC's bailout funds period. If AC goes under so will Chorus, they are 2 peas in a pod. You are invested in a company that just received a ton of taxpayer money and yet you are willing to accept dividends glady as do I except I don't badmouth other companies that have in the past benefitted from Federal aid.
