My thoughts on Bomber

Been an investor since 2016. Over 20k in shares.

bomber is going to seriously struggle in this geopolitical - inflationary environment.

Bomber has a good 5 year plan it is executing. It has after market parts and great business planes. But that's it. Nothing new to announce, investor days are just updates on what we already know. The world is in turmoil and there is nothing safe haven or attractive about Bomber at the moment.

So what do you do? Simple. Sell or hold. Simple. I'll be selling I think: made good profit (should have taken more but we can always say that)

if I hold until 2025 - that's almost a decade and who's to say Bomber isn't cancelling contracts with oligarchs as we speak. I'm sure this landscape is hurting them.

Would like to hear other perspectives on this.

I have to agree. I may bail today and allocate the funds to adding to my energy shares. One can always come back to BBD in the future but for now it sure looks like dead money or worse goes down more. Futures up this moring so maye you can get above 1.50. This Russian/Ukraine situation is turned into a major headwind for BBD and no way they can avoid damage to the bottom line. My experience has ...more

Bombastic - Good move to sell since it's what you feel is right.  Taking home some profits is never a bad thing. SP is more likely to drop than to jump in the next weeks because of the uncertainty of war and the economic repercussions. For my part I'll stay in, since I'm long and believe that selling is these type of situations as most of the times proven to be a bad idea ...more

IMO, bus jets will keep flying in US, Canada, middle east, Asia, Australia, Africa, south America etc, those jets will continue to be serviced and bbd will sell parts, and service those jet == $$$$ bbd will continue to deliver jets to X,Y, Z except russia  but those jets that was suppose to be sold to russia, may be bought by Chinees or or unless  this geopolitical situation ...more

I understand your point of view and I also understand your reasons for selling .. I will be holding mostly because I believe the share price is undervalued and it will be brought higher eventually , I do not need the money and I do trade other companies and they have just as much risk to take a dump at any time due to the Ukraine situation ...Dead money to some can get expensive if it is borrowed ...more

Thanks for response and insight. I don't need the money right now either but it's about how long I expect to hold this before getting better returns from Bomber. For me there are no catalysts for some time. Plus geopolitical situation and oil.

You may very well be right. It's impossible to tell how things will shape up with certainty. I, on the other hand, have been accumulating during the pandemic and now during the Ukraine war. I do not fear bankruptcy anymore and am in a position to hold as long as it needs. I do not have time to play the swings and hop from one industry to the next like I use to. Perhaps foolish on my part ...more

Bombastic, good thoughts, thx for sharing with the group. I've posted, and still believe, that IMO the stock will continue in a dead money period. Like you pointed out, all of their major developments are on the table already, all the way thru 2025. Furthermore, in that 3 years a down cycle could easily happen, wiping out any potential gains and maybe more. More competition is coming, too ...more
