Just speculating

Could concentrating on business jet market and consolidation be steps towards seting the company for sale. Debt while high is manageable and cash flow is going towards positive. I am speculating but who knows. It could also be merger. Bombardier Textron.

Will never hapend. Canadian Goverment will never aproove ! A join venture ,for some specific projetcs maybe with Embaraer or with an european company but to sell it outside the Canada NEVER.

The industry does needs to consolidate a bit. In today's political climate, tho, hard to see any of the national champions getting bought by one of the others. Or by any foreign company, for that matter. That leaves only a domestic buyer, and in Bomber's case, to use all stock and cash, to keep the too-high-already debt level from expanding. Seems highly unlikely to me. And Bomber couldn ...more

Just for the sake of argument, I really don't see the maintenance part of Bombardier as being cyclical.  Bombardier could sell its business aircraft part and not really be at risk, cyclically speaking. That being said, I'm not pushing for this nor do I think it would be a good idea... unless they apply the 'sell high' theory to the value to its business aircraft, remember ...more

i believe they go together ... when buying an expensive toy , I'd like the option to know that the company who built it can service it , that company can charge a premiuim and clients will be glad to pay it ...  walk into a Mercedes , they have different prices for working on Mercedes  ($185/ hour) + and less of a cost to service  a  sprinter  or any other vehicle ...more

We'd need to see an analysis to really know how cyclical.  Less than aircraft sales, but not zero, because when the economy is down, you'd expect flight hours to be down, too, although perhaps not as much.
Comment by MyNameIsNobody on Apr 14, 2022 10:44am
Smaller aircraft like Lears are a bit impacted by the economy, I guess it goes with the wealth of owners of smaller jets, but it's usually not impacting medium to large sized aircraft.. again my guess ist because of the wealth of those owners. Remove my two guesses and this info comes straight out of Eric Martel's mouth. Now if you're looking for something negative you can still ...more

You lost me.  Bomber is still a cyclical, but do to their program to rapidly increase maintenance rev's, thankfully their cyclicality is declining.  That's a good thing of course. That the perma bulls are still so edgy/sensitive and another poster has bailed suggests the stock may finally be bottoming.
Comment by MyNameIsNobody on Apr 14, 2022 1:40pm
Not sure that the perma bull being edgy/sensitive, your words, means anything. I'm just calling it as I see it.  Doesn't mean I'm right, only means that it is my what I think. If by poster bailed you think Bago, my guess is it doesn't mean anything. No one knows when the tides are going to turn for Bombardier.  Only thing for sure is that the results have been good for ...more

My business reasons to be in this chat room: 1) get timely, concentrated news, 2) get a feel for the retail investors' thoughts and feelings, and 3) get questions answered.  The way the perma bulls jump all over the slightest criticism absolutely says they're edgy/sensitive, and therefore worried.  Been this way here for awhile, so possible kinda played out, which is a bullish ...more

I'm here for the same reasons. But when the share is at idle, teasing are more frequent , so I go away for some time, taking a look from time to time. The bulls are surely too sensitives but I understand thier presence; they are long on Bombardier, they have money invested and stay interested. At the opposite, what is the motive of a bear posting negative messages on a regular basis ? They don ...more

temp, yeah, the ignore button helps. Would be even better if this site were moderated, but I don't expect that to happen. I don't care much about posters' motivations, what they say and seem to feel is matters to me. Serious investors listen to everything, they don't shy away from criticism and they sure don't blame the Boogieman for their bad decisions. Every investor makes ...more

'Serious investors listen to everything' - True, it's a good thing to do but I believe the issue on this board lately was dishonesty from some posters. A little bit is easy to handle but the dose we got lately was over the top. Anyway, I usually put people like that on ignore but didn't this time...my mistake but then again you can't always ignore lies. (See what happened in ...more

Hey Temp. I gotta put my 2 Cents in here, because, I find people like you to be a joy here, whatever your reason is for being here. You're knowledgeable, and you do your homework. In fact, I've learned from you something, that I overlooked on how the Bomber deals with wages/payroll on their New Balance sheet. In the past their accounting was so confusing, because of so much cashburn. ...more

Sorry Temp. I got distracted as I was posting earlier. So I didn't proof read what I posted. So I'll repost the bottom part of my last post. I'll start from the highlighted part of my post in Yellow bellow, and continue. So to continue from the highlighted yellow on. When the share price goes UP continiously, they are manipulating.it all the way up, and are selling at their desired ...more

Thanks for your toughts, almost a presentation.  I surely share your confidence in Bombardier; I am long, very long with it. And, like you, some shares have been bought in the TFSA and RESP of my sons; but in a more moderate amount than for me. I lost a lot of money in december 2019 and january 2020 with the false info of Bellemare about the 2019 Q4 forecasts. But, it is now an old story ...more

Thanks Temp. Well said. You're bang on. Thank god I don't rely on the Bomber to pay the bills. I have a day job. At this age I'm a semi-retired Investor in the Construction Industry. I'm just helping the youngest kids find their way now. One is almost there, and the other will find his own way. I still have to show them the ropes. So they're responding now. I too am very ...more

Thank you for this ... i too felt disappointed by the family in the past ... i did not count on them selling the CSeries or the trains , I figured their 35 billion sales estimates would easily pay down the debt quickly but things changed and I now know it was Fir the better ... although it still seems like a large debt I believe we will still be able to chop off a good chunk in the next year ...more

Btw temp. Thanks for that last paragragh on your post, about what you think.  I have to explain what happened, for me to aquire all these shares.  I didn't want to aquire so many shares, and get so overweighted in 1 stock. I had a strong position from 2016. But since 2019 when the Shares started to head down. I've been trying to average down from $4.75. I didn't think that ...more

i agree with what you said one coment i have regarding " PB developing the the CSeries for $6B" fair = fair , why the C series costed 6B$ he C serries was supposed to start delivering much earlier than 2018 there was about 3 years delays on the c series first delay was caused by Pratt&Whitney engin catching fire on first test in 2013 P&W took over one year to solve the ...more

P.B. Is an A$$H, has always been, and now their preparing that Reverse Split that will mostly of the Shareholders will be put in the A$$! There is nothing to do with F....C..K crooks like this Family! The main reason for the Reverse Split, is to get rid of the small shareholders as there is some here, including me! So Mitsubishi was first to select PW Gear engine for MRJ. PW was slowly developing the GTF to MRJ schedule. Bombardier picked GTF for C series and wanted to have entry into revenue service before MRJ. The engine C series was using was still in development stage. Cant blame PW for their engine issues because it was still in development stage. This is why neither PW or Bombardier mentioned any ...more

I think that its a fair description of the past key events viewed from the commercial / technical view point. Where I disagree with many here is re. the role attributed to PB in trying to picture him as the villain in this family saga. After firing Tellier as CEO because he refused to go ahead with the CSeries, LB transfered PB from BRP to replace him. End of discussion for him. Thanks to PB and ...more

First of all, It's a hypothetical suggestion by you Nobody.First think about it though. The Bomber would never sell a high Margin business like that. It's higher margins than the BJ manufacturing side. Btw, Bombardier only decided to take a bigger chunk of the Service, because of the higher Margins on the Service side. Second as Bicente says, it's always good for wealthy buyers, and a ...more

Yup, hypothetical. I wouldn't change a thing for now, I think they're doing great. Not the sp but the business turnaround.
