Bombardier Inc. > The possible reverse split

The possible reverse split

I am not looking forward to a reverse split, would prefer to leave things as they are. If there is one and it seems likely it will happen, I think it will be either 1 for 5 or 1 for 10, anything more would alienate shareholders more than they are now, never a good thing to do for a public company.

i think rev. split will be very good and will be at least 10, 15 to one,,,depending on sh price at the time,,, i think the goal will be to bring sh. price to be arround 20.00 dollar that wil bring institution investments (long term investments, not traders) and will chase away trader with 10,000 or 20,000 playing with bbd.b example a trader buy 10,000 wait till it is up 5 cent, then sell ...more

Logic is faulty. May bring in some institutional investors but traders are not the problem. The numbers are relative so if you buy 1000 shares for 15,000 you just need a .50 gain to make that 500. The percentage gain is what matters so you don't need more money at all. Looking the recent volumes with such a high float there is basically no trading really to speak of. The bomber needs more ...more

You say, it depends what price they will do the reverse split, won't be over $2, probably at these prices where we are, and it'll coming more faster that we may think!!
Comment by Greenday on Apr 20, 2022 9:23pm
@ johnney - Minimum consolidation would be 3:1.  Anything less would be pointless as most financial institutions won't margin a common stock that trades for less than $3.00. $3 to $5 commons are generally marginable to 50% and $5+ commons generally marginable to 70%.  So if a consolidation were to happen, my guess is that it would be in the 10:1 range as bumping into the threshold ...more

You are so right about the dual share structure. The thing is it's not like the company has been shareholder  friendly over the years and you are willing to give up voting rights. They need to show the investment community they are serious about creating shareholder value and eliminating the  dual share structure would go a long way in doing that.  To many this company is ...more

What I meant by that, they won't wait till the SP gets to $3, or $5, before they do the reverse split! At $1,50, 3 for 1, brings the so at $4.50! I know that istitutions won't touch a Sp that is below, $3 or $5! I would be very surprised that they will wait that the SP hits $3, or $5, to do that Reverse!

The reverse split will be done this year, no doubt on that! The opposite would be very surprising!

I do agree with you in this!!

Many were surprised by the RS anouncement. My first thought was: why now?  Looking at recent institutional ownership sitting in the low teens (12.2%) it is easy to conclude some still see a lot of risks ahead. However, if the next few quarters continue at the pace we've seen along with continued orders, I believe investor interest will continue to rise along with price.  In ...more

I've warmed up to it. Often a r/s is a sign of trouble, as in trying to maintain a listing for a company going downhill. Bomber is going uphill, they just have too many shares leftover from their days as a failed conglomerate. Sounds like they have their pulse on what the tutes want, so, give it to them now instead of organically much later, then hit 'em hard with the successful turn ...more

how about the thought that the long range plan is to remove the family's control of the company because of their "A" shares( and their voting rights)  , they could calculate a way to still control the company but with # of shares instead of the way it is now ...2 of the parts of this company's drawabacks in the past were # of shares and family control ( some members are not ...more

If the Family would control the majority of the common shares, the company would not need a revese split as the majority of shares would be held by insiders. Nothing would really change but they would have do infuse a whole pile of cash to attain that control unless the company buys them out or any portion there of. In that case. the company could better use the money to do a share buy back ...more

The family control has avoided Bombardier being ripped apart and sold in peices. But that's exactly what the family did to survive. There is only one business left. Maybe with consolidation the family will give control but have significant say due to their holdings. This might be one of the reasons for consolidation. They didn't consolidate earlier when Bombardier was delisted to prop the ...more

you are correct , the only thing that saved this from going BK/ taken over is the fact that the family owns majority voting rights ... I think they are now getting ready to follow the BRP path ... maybe get a partner and remove someone else from the clan ... remember that Martel was passed up as a candidate to run the Bjets a while back ..I think the ones who brought him back are planing to make ...more

Honestly I'm still not too happy with the R/S. But if they vote it in? The whole trick next is, to get the SP up, as high as possible before they decide to RS. This way we don't get too eroded. Having a 3 for 1 split, is ideal. It gets the SP up to around $15/share, and the current SP up closer to $5/S at the same time, so it's not that erosive. How do we get the SP up to around $5/S ...more

i hope bbd stay as is with dual sh structure dual shares helped to keep bbd  canadian imo, the family will not take any step that may indanger or give even a lttle possibility of take over not to forget that bbd (now) hos the Global, and soon the challenger 3500 , and some usa or french intity may want to steel them as they have stolen the C series
Comment by bicente on Apr 21, 2022 10:57am
I understand and agree that it should stay Canadian ..look at BRP , they are doing great AND the family is making a good living there too ..I think it's doable ... GLTA
