Bombardier Inc. > Spirit is a mess

Spirit is a mess

Spirit have been lossing money on all divisions.  This is why AB is buying its work from Spirit for $1 and getting $559 million from Spirit to make up for the loss.

Bombardier should also buy it's work from Spirit for $1 and get paid the amount Spirit was losing on these contracts.

And the beauty of this is, Boeing takes on all these cost that Spirit has to pay.

i hope you are right, but when it comes to bombardier. instead of paying bbd to take on part of spirit, they will ask for big bucks i will be very surpeised if bbd get any anything from spirit with similar deal offered to Airbus imo, bbd will have to pay
Comment by stockitnow on Aug 07, 2024 1:16pm
Bombardier doesn't need to pay spirit for belfast division.  Bombardier doesn't need to buy Belfast, as much as Boeing/spirit need to get rid of Belfast from their core Boeing business.  Legallyl bombardier will hold spirit to deliver as per contract.  This is what Martel has been saying.  So whoever buys will be legally required to uphold the contract.  I don' ...more

That's exactly what I've been saying Stock. Bombardier doesn't need to buy Spirits plant. When Spirit sells the Belfast plant? The new buyer has to assume the responsibilities spelled out in the Spirit contracts they assume from Spirit upon the sale. As I was saying we are far better off staying out of the Belfast plant purchase the price is right. Just FYI. The only other possible ...more

What could harm Bombardier, regarding Spirit? Good to know the downside risk.

Pobally the market doesn't like this uncertainty!! Gulfstream, Textron, and Embraer, their share price not affected like this one is! Glta!
Comment by stockitnow on Aug 08, 2024 11:57am
Gulfstream, Textron have very large military presence, Embraer also has good product line for the military.  All three are doing very well on military side. This is why bombardier is trying to expand into military as well.
Comment by Shamhorish on Aug 08, 2024 12:27pm
cross my fingers when bbd treid to expand into single isle jets and came up with C serries, Boeing , Airbus< P&W, they all worked to gether to bring it down, and Airbus endup taking the C series for close to nothing Now BBd trying to expand into militery with best product availble better than Boeing, etc,, all of a sudden, same problem appeared, shortage of engins that is causing delays ...more

You do realize that none of Bombardiers biz jet have Pratt engine right. And the biz jets that bombardier has for military platform have GE, Rolls or Honeywell engines.   No one is conspiring here.  FYI, Airbus is heavily impacted by PW engines right now.  So your reason for Pratt screwing Bombardier doesn't hold either. Also, LEAP engines have compressor bow issues ...more

yes, i know that bbd bus jet does not use P&W engines i am just giving example, was used to delay the c serries there was no prob with GE or rolls or honywell all of a sudden there is a problem with  GE, rolls or honywell   , may be it is the same game, i do not trust those usa companies who have power to manipulate..................................... you do not have ...more

Or maybe you don't post nonsense. Follow up on GE, Honeywell RR on their quarterly report and you will find out how they get grilled by their investors for all the delays due to technology and supply chain issues. There is no manipulation.  Fyi Rolls royce is not American and LEAP is half own by SAFRAN which is European.  You don't even have you facts right.

i am not intrested in getting in smart talk i trully hope that you are right and i am wrong but i know bbd lost c serries because delay in engines deliveries while Airbus was getting same engines on time that Airbus Ceo ED (something) came out saying in sarcastic way that they do have 25 engines already stored on Airbus facilty and getting engines on time,,,,, afterr first flight engine fire, bbd ...more

Smart talk... lol you mean facts. Airbus neo uses PW1100 engines which  weighs 6300lbs, has fan diameter of 81 inches and produces 24 to 35k of thrust. CSeries now a220 uses PW1500 engines which weigh 4800lbs, has fan diameter of 73 inches and has thrust of 19 to 23k of thrust. You do realize that they are two different engines and had different certification schedule and maturity right ...more

That is 100% true for C-Series engines, I too remember this!
Comment by smush74 on Aug 08, 2024 3:34pm
you might want to research who actually builds those engines and companies. CFM International, a 50–50 joint venture between American GE Aerospace and French Safran Aircraft Engines, Rolls-Royce PLC, major British manufacturer of aircraft engines.

You're right for the C-Series, no coincidence there!!
