I guess the way I see it is if Hue Tran felt there was a merger/acquistion on the horizon he would not have exercised his options and then sold the shares. He would rather exercise the options and hold the shares or would wait for the acquisition or merger to clear at which time your options will typically pay out and all unvested options would also vest.
