Bir share price.

There have been many price predictions recently by the experts...and all of them higher than where we are today.

Josef Schachter who I believe is a very highly respected investment specialist in Alberta, stated that he expected the price of gas to fall and then rebound pushing BIR much higher.  So far his prediction (given at beginning of Feb) looks ok.

So how does Josef rate against Eric? Both specialists in oil & gas...both have opposing views on BIR?

Any thoughts?

No really the same type of analyst.  Eric doesn't touch many natural gas stocks.  For instance, his 3 top picks today were all oil, ATH, TVE and CVE.  Out of his funds top 10 holdings, ninepoint energy, he only has one gas company, NVA.

Eric Nuttall has been bullish on natural gas stocks before, but like I stated, he's a short-term trader, so he's in and out of names depending on his latest hunches or analysis of oil vs. natural gas. According to stockchase.com: Nuttall on TOU: Sept. 16, 2022: Buy   $79.68 Excellent company with long reserve life. High special dividends that provide excellent returns. CEO has ...more

Great post Always, Nuttall in a Nutshell. He's done the same with Crescent Point, Whitecap and even Baytex. He is good for our Industry, wish Bnn would get Joseph Schachter back again, it's always nice to hear differing opinions.

Hey Barney I tend to agree with nutall in that I don't see anyway for Natgas to have a decent bump in price given supply in the short term. I hold aav crew Bir arx and Bte and tve in the more oily co's.

Woops didn't finish my post... I really think the story is 2024 and beyond when kitmat opens which is probably early 2025. Hopefully this abnormal winter is a bump in the road I was just in Europe and it's all they talk about is the warm winter and high gas prices. I wish Bir had not gone so large on the divi in the short term perhaps this price decline in gas is reminder to producers ...more

In the Ninepoint Energy Income fund, Eric owns two nat gas producers, Chesapeake and Tourmaline.

Josef used to be on BNN market call where I thought he had a knack of finding small cap off the radar energy stocks. His overall knowledge is as good as Eric's. I think they are equal when it comes to evaluating stocks but as I hold BIR I will go with Josef's assesment of gas futures.

JS is a clown. Bellatrix and Pengrowth were some his "table pounder" buys as they were heading down the drain and have since disappeared.

There are no specialists or experts that have a 100% batting average. It's just a preference as to whose advice sounds the most logical. And they all have a way of making sense.... At this moment I cannot see any stock roaring away.  I have to admit earlier in the year I did not expect the natural gas price to go so low. Somif we look in hindsite, from the beginning of the year, we all ...more

I agree JS has to be the worst money manager in N America, i also followed him like bellatrix and especially his 'BEST OF THE CENTEURY'"  OILEXCO, IT WHEN BANKRUPT ALSO..

Yes "Joe The Bow" has been the cause of great anxiety and consternation to many who have followed his advice on such notable plays as Oilexco.  He had an uncanny resemblence to Sean Penn's lawyer character in the flick Carlito's Way. However I do recall his impeccable choice of  females who were often in his presence.
