Games being played....again?

Most energy stocks up 2-4% with oil and gas up nicely.  But not BIR.  Games being played with ex-div coming on Aug 14.  BIR should be $ 8.75 at least.  Oh well we are just retail shareholders taking it again!

Yes not much action but there is still tomorrow remaining to pick up the juicey dividend. One would think that the price should go up the divy amount (20 cents) considering the large amount of outstanding shorts but you never know in this market sentiment. A lot depends on the amount of BS that the "experts" spin on the various media outlets.

I think the market dis likes the fact that the divi is being paid from debt and Jeff didn't protect his balance sheet by hedging a little when had the chance. They did such a good job dropping the debt but arrogance got in the way. Gas needs to be over 3 bucks in order to fund the divi etc and not use debt...Jeff's words.

Why sell the day before locking in the .20 cent per share dividend.  Doesn't make sense to me, if anything should of sold it yesterday.  Whats changed today?. Is it that's  NG is down a whopping .05 Nickel....

Anonymous is the big seller probably just moving on to another opportunity and not worried about the divi. They are over 1.1 million shares on the sell side. Should bounce back when they are done I think. I loved Bir but Jeff's ideals chased me away temporarily

Jeff's a man of his word. Promised this dividend for 2023. If nat gas prices stay super low the divi will be reset and thats it...meanwhile this is what i posted over at the ARX BB..read and enjoy...dwdc This is what's REALLY IMPORTANT...wow, NG inventories have narrowed to with-in 8% of 5 year norms..33bcf was injected but the 5 year average is 60 bcf..see below...I say very good news ...more

I added more today , I’ll take the .20 cents per share thank you very much.
Comment by newtonboy on Sep 13, 2023 3:13pm
I added yesterday figuring the price would be more today due to tomorrow being X divy. Don't know for sure but chances are the 13MM shorts combined with the BMO 10MM cross this morning may have had some bearing on the sudden drop.  Ya think...

Very surpried at this price drop.  I was hoping to sell at 8.80 this week and buy back after dividend but it never got there.  I was even thinking 8.69 but that didnt happen either.  I couldnt resist and added 2000 at 8.05 and take the dividend.  I think we should rebound to mid $ 8.50 this month.  Hope lm not wrong but been riding BIR for a while....GLTA

I'm not to worried about the day to day  stock fluctuations.  Dividend is good for remainder of this year, debt will continue to be paid down once NG prices improve and  Kitimat Lng terminal is getting closer and closer. Buyout could happen any time in between.

why buyout...where you see that...no clue

Everything is for sale at the right price. A number of years ago Jeff Tonken said if the right offer came along that was good for share holders it would be considered.  Personally I think it's just a matter of time as the Industry needs more consolidation.
