According to the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative, based in Germany, Albania is one of the most corrupt countries in Europe and the most corrupt in the Balkans. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has confirmed the authenticity of an internal report that Prime Minister Edi Rama stashed € 200 million in offshore bank accounts allegedly stemming from corrupt practices, including bribes taken in exchange for construction permits when he was mayor of Tirana in 2000 and 2001.It also contains press reports claiming that parliamentary spokesman from the ruling Socialist Party, Ilir Meta, so called The Red Mafia ,was linked to organized crime groups and had ordered two contract killings. Maybe they wiish oil prices were higher just like the rest of us. Further the ...more

That's what I figured. I am confident that the Albs will back it down fast. Nobody could be so stupid as to let this fester for long. Whomever it was that wanted to make noise, the noise has been made. So now everything has a price to be paid, and the price to be paid for this little excercise is a bowl of humble pie for supper. And the Albs will eat it this week.
