Short vs long

I have never shorted any stocks since I am in the stock market, but I think shorts make more and easy money than longs, the gain of one month for the stocks is gone in 1/2 hour, downside pressure is lasting long than upside. This is what happened to my BTE last week and is happening with my copper and gold stocks yesterday and today.

Your comments are actually starting to get annoying. You posted earlier about the former sp of BTE at $48 except you make no mention of the fact that it had 1/8 the amount of outstanding shares.  Nor do factor in the price of oil at the time it was trading at when the shares were listed at $48. If you factor a historical inflation rate of 2%  and add it to the avg. price of wti when the ...more

Just compare BTE to its peers over that 7 years period of tim, you will understand what I am saying, inflation doesn't apply just for BTE, it applies to all other oil stocks as well.

Buying or selling shares is a personal choice, giving opinion is anyone's right. I am not polluting the board. What I am saying makes sense, the market behaviour is the support of my opinions.

It's pretty challenging to compare to peers from 2016 to today. In BTE's case, it bought Raging River and now Ranger Oil. WCP and CPG have made sizeable acquisitions. BTE is not the same company it was then, nor are it's peers from 7 years ago the same.  Buy and hold is probably a pretty good strategy for dividend aristocrats. O&G investing is far more cyclical.  IMO ...more
