Cardinal vs. Tourmaline

Hi - I am what I would say is a bit overweight on CJ relative to other holdings I have and am considering selling a bit (after dividend date for Dec) and flipping over to more Tourmaline shares.  Thought here is that there is a bit more diversification to nat gas vs. oil and the yield is similar (if you count the special dividends that Tourmaline does).  My focus is on steady dividends as a priority with some potential capital upside (or at least some stability - ha!)

Any further thoughts / considerations from other board members?  Thanks

One can not argue with your logic here, I like both companies which have proven they can be disciplined and true to their word. The obvious advantage to picking up TOU now is their in a great position to profit from future LNG opening up, as well as massive reserves. In this case diversification can make very good sense

vwbusman >> Noted:we hold both as very  LONG term investments & are over weighted on TOU & original weight on CJ.T.. Sold a few TOU awhile back to cover original costs But have NOT sold any CJ & are thinking of topping up our original position. Both GOOD investments as we collect any  dividends and wait for future SP growth & upside in O/G pricing...  IMO   ...more
