Why is the volume on the TSX higher (than on the US exchange) for this stock, yet the opposite is true for Valeant?

Because certain stocks that trade in both US and CAN trade more in US and others trade more in Canada. Usually though, a stock trades more in Canada. If you check banks, BCE and Telus and others, it is more in Canada. If you check VRX, and Blackberry, more in the US. No real explanation.
