My Thoughts on Cohodes

He's a great short seller. He knew by looking at the numbers - Brexit helped him ALOT and Im sure he didnt expect it. Once Brexit occurred his short thesis was FULL steam.

Do I criticise him? No. Im an investor. I find value in distressed situation. He finds value in distressed situations.

Do I think his short thesis has run out? Not entirely. The company needs to prove itself. Will it bounce back - Q3 will show ALOT. If they can show stability in Q3 (considering the FX rate used will be 1.23/1.24) then they will be fine. New year funds will PILE on. If they f**k it up this thing is a dud.

For Marc I think this is personal. Thompson will most likely be removed as CEO so rest easy Marc.

Lol - You can assume that everyone that worked at Nortel - probably the largest employer in CAD at one point was fradulent. As well Nortel made BAD investments and BAD decisions which led to downfall. INSY is a terrible risk because of opiods (and fraud)

Tell me how AMCO and COVIS are BAD decisions.  Please enlighten me with your stats and figures. You'll say impairment, brexit, what else do you have?

They bought covis with 25% o their own equity, borrowed the rest and then in 15 months wrote off 50% o th purchase price. If that isn't a picture of sloppy due diligence, please show me a better example. If you are paying top $, they should have had clawback provisions to protect shareholders value.

Rye high - have you been asleep the last 4 months?  Amco was a beautiful example of lipstick on a pig.  A merger of two failed companies bought out of bankruptcy by Cinven.  The FCF was juiced with an unsustainable spike in drug pricing.  MT and the gang swallowed it hook line and sinker.  They got reeled in paying top dollar for junk assets and the rest is history........ ...more
