Inflation getting super hot

The FED (and BoC by default because we follow) may have waited too long by not moving in January to keep inflation in check. Today's number goes back to 1982 numbers and for those that had to endure it they will remember that's when the FED had to slam the breaks hard by juicing rates up to all time record levels of +16%.

March is shaping up for some volatility on two fronts. Will Putin move into Ukraine post Olympics and will the FED be forced to move a whole .5% up on rates... or more?

Don't forget the future third front.  After Putin invades Ukraine with next to ZERO response from the West, within 6 to 12 months China will invade Taiwan.  Western democracy is too divided to defend Democracy at home, let along throughout the World. As quoted in the movie "Snatch": "Now, we are F&%$'ed"

Would Russia move on Superbowl day...the biggest annual event in the USA? If true, we are looking at one ugly week ahead. https://www.cp24.com/video?clipId=2380347&jwsource=cl

DFN unit NAV falls to $18.39, now only up 10 cents from the JAN 31 update. Tomorrow is the day for calculating NAVS for commons. From another news source in ASIA, I heard that the 15,000 troops showed up on the UKRAINE side of the border before Russia moved troops to defend their side...  NEWS now is a crapshoot, most of it is hard to believe from any source. But the idea of the war was to ...more

From Kitco this morning: MOSCOW, Feb 15 (Reuters) - Russia said on Tuesday some of its military units were returning to their bases after exercises near Ukraine and mocked repeated Western warnings about a looming invasion, but NATO said it had yet to see any sign of de-escalation on the ground. Russia did not say how many units were being withdrawn, and how far, after a build-up of some 130 ...more
