RE:Brutal day...

It's the biggest selloff since March 2023 and.... it was much needed. Corrections are healthy, recessions and depressions are not. Too much froth was in the system. Let's not rag on the banks ...more

Brutal day...

One of the bigger selloffs we have seen since last fall... Do not think DGS is now above the level needed for paying to commons. Saving grace may  be that  Brompton wont do calculationl date ...more

RE:NAV @ 11:27 am

I am sure i dont havre a good handle on BDIV, as the last update to DEC 31 shows holdings that would NOT have pushed up the NAV to $19.04.... so i really do not know what could be in there. Perhaps ...more

NAV @ 11:27 am

~$15.29. My calculations indicate we are still ~0.33% above the threshold. There are shades of green in the portolio, most notably WCN, a large holding in DGS at 3.70%. It would be far too premature ...more

Date may not matter

Selloff bigtime today on surprise inflation numbers from the US. DGS does have some green, but will see if there is a rebound end of day. Most knew that the FEd would NOT be cutting rates anytime soon ...more

Family DAY FEB 19 2024

I do believe the markets are closed on that day, so may affect the date Brompton uses for calculating UNIT NAV
Post by mousermanon Feb 13, 2024 8:33am

2018 Brompton used FEB 20th , a tuesday

So because the second to last thursday was on the 15th of FEB  that year  Brompton changed the calculation date, to tuesday the 20th. So we may see that again this FEB.
Post by mousermanon Feb 13, 2024 8:25am

Last year calc date was FEB 16

And it just worked out that it was the second last thrusday of FEB 2023. You may be right and they will use the 15th, which would be the earliest calc date i can recall in FEB going back as far as I ...more

RE:RE:RE:NAV February 12

Last year Brompton declared on the 21 st of FEB, and only had 5 business days afterward... so I am just going on how they have done it in the past.

RE:RE:NAV February 12

If they use the February 22nd NAV, they would have to declare distributions on the same day. Declaring on Friday, February 23rd would be in violation of TSX regulations. Then again, very few things ...more

RE:NAV February 12

Actually i think BROMPTON will use the second last thursday again..  so their calcualtion date will likely be the 22nd. Altho FEB has 29 days this year ,and if they did not have the extra day, it ...more

NAV February 12

~$15.40. Premium on capital shares: ~$0.07. We are a solid ~1.06% above the threshold. We need to hold the fort for just three more trading days to generate another dividend declaration.  ...more

Sold a small portion

Sold a small portion of DGS at $5.38
Post by mousermanon Feb 09, 2024 9:25am

Brompton reports DGS UNIT NAV @ $15.30 after dist.

SO i was quite high on my estimate, and BDIV came in with a higher NAV than i had for an input into the spreadsheet. Can only guess that the weightings have changed. DGS commons worth $5.30 before ...more
