Mortgage renewals will be a drag

As people face huge increases in mortgage payments, they will keep driving older cars, take fewer vacations,  but unlikely to sell the house.  Maybe develop the basement to rent out.

And in Toronto, law has been passed for multi-dwelling buildings to be built on the same lot, as many as 4 units. This may be an incentive for some to collect rent while stayibg put at the same address without having any tenants in your actual home. Also may be an option for extended/blended families when owning outright is simply out of reach, which is the case for many already. https://www ...more
