Thanks for your insights!

I hold most of my DHT in a TFSA to avoid T3's but I picked up units some in my "fun account" and what a pain.  

However it has been illuminating!  I was under the impression that for T3's, companies prepared the "Statement of Trust Income Allocations and Desginations", and the "back rooms"  used this information directly for clients (ie just multiply those numbers by the number of shares held on each dividend date and add the numbers up).

In this case the $US numbers were "keyed in" (and hence the 100% error) and a different set of exchange rates were used to compute the final T3 amounts.

The CRA has nothing to say on this that I could find.  If you are consistent they are at generally happy with that.  

For the few dollars difference that now exists, I will let those pass as conversations with the CRA  cost much more in time and fustration should they decide to disagree with the adjustments!
