I will be interested to see what it opens at tomorrow, closed at $20 before the div announced so that is what the market valued the whole company at, add the approx. $16 divi =$36 but of course now the value of the sporting goods dept. is gone so needs to be deducted, how many folk got in just for the divi and now sell is the question, i am surprised the price has not gone up more could be a good ...more

There are three estimates which value the stub in the $30 range. Most of the debt will be paid off too and they have instituted measures to increase margins for the two remaining stubs. $30 represents the sale value of the remaining stubs. What it trades at ex dividend , if insensely low, will be an excellent hold, as the remaining stubs will IMO be sold after Q1 reports

I agree, they could very well already have a deal in the works but they won't annouce the deal until after they complete the buyback.  If they don't have a deal in hand, they are definitely taking steps to make the company more appealing to a buyer.  I suspect that with the current rotation from growth stocks to value, I expect to get a very good offer for the remaining ...more

These old folks want to retire so I have no doubt that the last two subsidiaries have been prepped for outright sale. Its my opinion that they have probably bought back up to 750,000 shares which saves us about $11 million cad in cash dividends . That still leaves over 1 m shares to be bought back. We are very well positioned for more cash returned at some point in the first half of 2022. Wayfair ...more

i am one of the "old folk" so for me that is why i see a buying opportunity, they sell the other divisions and i get paid or if not i would guess they bring in a good regular divi and i get paid that way, i understand others may not agree but if you want a high growth/high risk/fast buck stock then Dorel is not the one you would pick, at $20 before the announcement the stock has not gone ...more

They have NOT bought back 750,000 shares. They have not bought back ANY shares. Stop with the misinformation already.
