Full Job Description

Spectral Medical Inc. (SMI) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Laboratory Technician – Packaging for our Manufacturing Department.

Role Summary:

The role of the Laboratory Technician is to carry out all packaging and manufacturing activities in a laboratory setting. Specifically, the Production Assistant will perform labelling, packing/kitting, and general labor work; operate instruments related to packaging, general cleaning, laboratory maintenance, and perform solution dispensing using aseptic technique. In addition to those tasks, the Production Assistant will function as back up for current manufacturing staff.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform labelling and packing activities while following all standard operating procedures.
• Perform inspection of kit components.
• Maintain production area in clean functional state. Clean experimental glassware and plastic ware, sterilize glassware and wrapped instruments as necessary.
• Perform raw material inspection.
• Perform receiving and shipping activities.
• Conduct equipment and instrument calibration as assigned.
• Assist in performing inventory counts.
• Support manufacturing staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

• College diploma/certificate in Biological sciences or laboratory Sciences background.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience.
• Knowledge and experience of laboratory techniques & general laboratory processes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow written and verbal instruction.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a clean room environment.
• Ability to operate various equipment with sufficient proficiency to successfully execute procedures.
• Possess excellent time management & effective communication skills.
• Ability to comfortably handle biological samples & potentially hazardous chemicals.
