Globe & Mail 07:59 AM EDT, 06/13/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Enthusiast Gaming Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ and TSX:EGLX) on Monday said it has nominated three gaming and sports industry veterans for election to its board of directors at its upcoming annual general meeting.
The gaming entertainment company said the new director nominees are Angela Ruggiero, Scott O'Neil, and Seth Berger. In addition, there are six incumbent director nominees. They are John Albright, Michael Beckerman, Ben Colabrese, Alan Friedman, Adrian Montgomery, and Richard Sherman.
Francesco Aquilini will not be seeking re-election after serving as a director for four years, Enthusiast Gaming said.
Ruggiero is an American ice hockey gold medalist and four-time Olympian. He is also CEO and co-founder of Sports Innovation Lab, a technology-powered market research firm.
O'Neil has 20 years of NBA, NHL, and NFL experience. He is the former CEO of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. Harris Blitzer owns 3.2% of Enthusiast Gaming while O'Neil indirectly owns 0.2% of the company.
Berger is Managing Director of Sixers Innovation Lab, an early-stage incubation and venture capital fund that invests in esports and gaming sectors. He is also founder and CEO of AND 1, a basketball sneaker, apparel and entertainment company. He controls about 1.7% of the issued and outstanding shares of Enthusiast Gaming.
