There are no benefits to the family only negatives. I do think they want to close the discount though.

Fair, however reducing the public float and liquidity to almost nothing virtually guarantees the discount will always remain substantial, will it not?

Perhaps but I think the rules of supply and demand apply and there won't be much supply under a certain discount. I know I'm unlikely to sell anymore unless the discount is much smaller.

With a very tight and discounted float the share buyback opportunity decreases so my guess is we start to see larger regular dividend increases and eventually the higher/growing div yield will push the stock up and shrink the valuation gap.
