AC charging VS DC charging

We can thank Nicola Tesla that we even have that option, even for the complete Electrical grid and modern society.
He invented the AC motor and generator that allowe your homes to be wired and anyone that have in North America 200amp service can have their own AC charger for their E vehicle and even be able to have emergency back up from their e car during powerfailure.
Biggest advantage with AC over DC is the size of the copper wire needed to trasmit power.  more heat is created with DC therfor larger loss so larger diameter wire is needed. fast charging with DC ih hard on the battery.
If you look in your Gas powered Car, notice the heavy wires commected to the battery and the much smaller diameter wired coming from the AC alternator that then convert trough a rectifier the AC to DC to charge battery.
Think this is the simplest way that I can explain it that most are familiar with, hope that clarify in a small way the issue.
Am sure others can come up with more detailed and scientific explanation.
