Surprisingly large short position

As of April 30th, the short position increased from a paltry 5,562 shares to a meaningful 107,867 shares, a surge of 102,305 shares in just two weeks. These short sellers can now be considered what I would refer to as compelled buyers, meaning they will have to cover at some point. Unless and until they take action, they are liable to keep paying the huge dividend every month.

One would expect to see some natural, increased support for these shares until either the short position decreases or the markets experience a correction.

All of this is conveniently ...more

Can we expect a short squeeze soon? Actually not really important, I hold FFN for dividend and therefore keep an eye on is NAV. US main banks seem to be doing okay, waiting for a rate reduction.

Judging by the trading data i would say the shorts have been covering in early MAY.. Usually tracking ANON stats, gives us an indication of whether they are holding it down, or covering. FTN stats certainly appear to have ANON holding the price down.. FFN stats show ANON near the top of the buyers list..  House Positions for C:FFN from 20240501 to 20240508 ...more
