Supreme Cannabis takes $33.2M loss in Q4 amid renewed shift to recreational sales

Toronto-based Supreme Cannabis recorded a $33.2-million net loss in its fourth quarter, while revenue fell slightly to $9.5 million from the company's prior quarter. Supreme also reported a $4.1-million adjusted-EBITDA loss in the quarter, a slight improvement from the prior quarter’s $5-million loss. The company said it improved cost-control measures to help streamline some parts of its business. Supreme also said it plans to focus on the recreational market as its primary revenue source amid reduced demand for wholesale cannabis flower. BMO Capital Markets analyst Tamy Chen said in a report that the company's reduced focus on wholesale demonstrates a positive change to its operations, although it remains unclear whether the company can find enough market share to be profitable.

...it really means survival of the fittest. Supreme is in a good position, having cut costs, developing international sales, having a recognized brand name, multitude of different products. They are licensed for 280,000 of grow space therefore expansion is allways a possibility. A great management team, with a great workforce, in a friendly appreciative community.

well said Vulcan...the conference was well run. Plenty of opportunities to ask questions...judging by the reaction on the day (volume and price fluctuations)...it was a success. We closed 7% higher. I would say Beena was well received. My take is "the road to success is allways under construction"...paying down debt is interest saved...it really is income. There is a time to invest and a ...more

In my opinion, matter of fact, you are, and in not a paid basher or a basher at all, just a realist. Was every single quarter loss just a accident? This one included? It doesn't matter about the revenue it's always operating at a loss! ACB, more sales lower capex, no profit in the canadian legislation! Taxation takes off top line revenue and more sales = more employees/light/expenses ...more
