Who takes out FM here?Imho.......It's a question of not IF but WHEN.............and i think sometime ib 2024 is a pefect time for that to become a reality.
I had already mentioned several times in the past that this "unfortunate" event in Panama, which by the way was preventable if this Canadian miner had stronger leadership with a backbone, combined with the shellacking the stock took........is setting the company up as a sitting duck and a potential takeout candidate for SEVERAL interested parties..........And there are many who would be VERY interested!
The stock is so damn cheap at this level, that IF i had $$$$billions to play around with i'd make an offer for the company ASAP.....Pronto.
So who will takeout First Quantum in 2024?............. Barrick? Newmont? Teck? Rio? Franco? Vale? Even FreePort is rumored now? Which isn't surprising really taking into consideration the BIG PRIZE FM is. Or could it be their Chinese partners..... who are practically salivating at mouth for that delicious possibility? A company with the quality of assets FM has will not stay depressed or indepedent for much longer.......
I don't know who it will be in the end......or when.......BUT you could bet your bottom dollar that the final sell price isn't gonna be anywhere close to currently depressed levels. That's almost a given or guarantee. My guess? Probably somewhere between $20-$25...,...IF no bidding war and possibly much higher if there is one.......hopefully ALL in American greenbacks $$$$
FM is possibly the LAST decent copper play around.....in terms of value & valuations.
