EX Dividend Date May 13 , 2022

Why sell?
Comment by Sugaree on May 09, 2022 11:46am
I believe as long as you hold until Friday (i.e. you can sell on Friday earliest) and still get the dividend.  Anyone know is that correct?

Ex-dividend is May 13th, so yes.

The dividend is .01 for a 3 month period and the stock is down .15 just today. You could hav sold Friday and now recover 15X what the dividend payout will be. I'm long on the name but there is many reasons why one would sell.

You say the "name", meaning GXE, however, I could name 13 other Cdn O&G companies also down 10% today and another 15 that are 8% or worse, so today has nothing to do with the name Gear specifically. All of them are larger market caps. Great buying opportunity. I loaded up a tonne more GXE today at $1.45 average, from cash i had selling some NVA last week from a huge run up it had.

I didn't say anythig about today being specific to Gear? The poster said why sell and talking about the .01 dividend. Not saying it's not a good day to buy either? Not sure why you are so defensive or thinking I am down on Gear whatsoever. I am long and think they have a bright future with today's oil price.

Sounded like you were saying many reasons to sell specifically Gear, not O&G in general. No worry, sorry, did not mean to be rude.
