Seriously

A deal will surely be made before oil goes up again....assets will worth more when oil is higher

There will not be a deal. Deals are usually made behind closed doors. This was done to drop the divs and extra cash to be sent to purchase own shares. There is now understanding if you don't buy your own shares they will get destroyed.

If it hasn't come to pass yet, oil shortages are a pipe dream ...more

Sad but true, the silver lining of the feds blowing OUR money on a pipeline, is government accounting. They don't carry a balance sheet per se. when they spend $30 Billion on a pipeline, it comes out of the Federal Deficit as it's spent. When it's done, they will, as fast as they can, sell it for whatever they can get. If they sell it for $5 Billion and take a $25 Billion loss, you won ...more

Cynical but true enough. I like the premise but it is prudent to wait for the toll application to be adjudicated because it is based on the $30 bn. Sure its unreasonable but it is what it is. TMX has been sending $millions of 'surplus' pipeline stuff to Ritchie Bros auctions in Chilliwack. Sold at pennies on the dollar, it's just another example of entities making out like bandits on ...more
