This ETF is based on a basket of longer term bonds not 10 year. Also, you have ignored the 17 cents you receive every single month since that date. If you reinvested the monthly tax efficient distributions, your returns would compound nicely over time.
HPYT has not done as well as i expected as the longer term bonds in the US have not come down as much as previously expected. I am willing to wait and love the safety of US bonds. If the markets tank, this is the ETF to have. If you need cash flow, the tax efficient distribution is fantastic.
