Going to buy VXX put on Wednesday. Brexit's got nothing to do with sp500. Just an excuse to sell off before the referandum which can take sp500 higher. If british pound was gone which it aint in either case, then you'd have havoc.

Got into my VXX put. Just a bit for now. Usually see a bit of recovery in S&P before a big event after the selloff.

Sold VXX put. 27% gain, for a less than 1/2 hour hold? F'in beats trading natural gas, with less risk on the short side.

Good callMayorFord, keep up the good work, if you don't mind me asking, how much capital are you putting up for these puts to get your 27% return?, the reason l'm asking is because trading ETF's can also give high returns in a very short time, but its extremely capital intensive, not to mention risky. Your idea sounds good, but l would like a little more detail about the capital ...more

A lot o commission in options. It's $1.25 per contract plus the usual $7 or $10 with TD. I've bought options at $0.04 before, so the commission was 20% of trade just in 1 transaction, but then they can go up a lot more than etf's (or down a lot more). THere is a huge time value decay much more even than HVU. Yesterday the VXX $16 put when I bought was down 30% when VXX was up only 1.4% ...more
