Shareholder interest in Public spinoff compared to private

Interested to see the opinions of people here, but what would be the interest in a public spinoff as opposed to a private one? I wouldn't be against that as it would still allow most shareholders to participate whereas the private business would be very difficult to be involved in (I'm from Australia and every broker/bank I spoke to wouldn't be able to facilitate the private spinoff)

This is what I was wondering too - what would be the purpose of a public spinoff of PNG? Why would that lead to value creation?The company as it is currently is essentially a PNG pure play. I don't really see the point of a public spin-off company, but perhaps others with more knowledge have a better persepctive.

Hi everyone, When I first invested in HWO in the spring my view was that the Company would benefit from an Australian listing. As PNG is fairly tied to Australia and its service providers, it would make sense to make it easy for Austrials to invest in the entity. Unless they have a transaction to do with the Canadian Assets and are unable to structure a tax advantaged sale of these assets
