Was it 250 GPM of water coming into Granite Creek?

That's 360,000 gallons per day......That's half an Olympic swimming pool ....every day.  Gee, I sure want to invest in that situation!

You are babbling incoherently again. More lies and nonsense. You were obviously asleep during this point in the presentation. You are referencing the plateau period in the second half of 2022 which has since been rectified with the mined footage at Granite Creek really picking up dramatically in 2023. As was pointed out in the presentation 150-200 gallons was encountered in 2022 which is not a lot ...more

You're a moron if you think that is a lot of dewatering for a mine. Many mines in Nevada dewater at rates in excess of tens of thousands of gallons per minute. 250 GPM is nothing.
Comment by TomWicken on May 19, 2023 12:37pm
and finally a voice of reason a garden hose is 30 GPM meathead theres a saying it better be thought a fool then open his mouth and remove all the doubts
Comment by Angelique01 on May 19, 2023 12:41pm
There is another popular saying.  If it acts like a moron and talks like a moron it must be a moron.

1.5 to 3 million gallons per day eh? LOL  And it's not just water that's an issue it's rock type. Underground mining is the worst possible way to mine in the worst possible business there is to be in.
Comment by TomWicken on May 19, 2023 2:43pm
yes rock and water major issues at granite creek according to tinhead yet theres a perfectly good mine doing 500 000 ounces au per yr with 325 000 of that underground literally 10 km away  same rock package as turquoise ridge The Granite Creek Mine, together with the Preble, Getchell, Turquoise Ridge, and Twin Creeks mines, are on what is referred to as the Getchell gold trend (Getchell ...more

And Barrick and Newmont stock is the same price as they were 8 and 10 years ago.  Not what I'd call a growth story.  The point is....this is a hard business and underground is even harder.
Comment by Angelique01 on May 19, 2023 4:10pm
These are the types of statements I would expect from a dumb retail investor with zero knowledge of mining.  The same kind of ridiculous  statement that 200 GPM is a lot of water in mining terms. As mentioned before here in Canada we have some of the most profitable lowest cost  mines being underground mines. AEM - Odyssey (Malartic) AEM - Macassa AEM-Laronde Newcrest- Brucejack ...more

You named 6....out of how many?  Do you understand how probability works?  Open pit is...all things considered....infinitely better a proposition than underground. If you want to make an argument don't cherry pick data.
Comment by metalhead666 on May 19, 2023 4:52pm
AEM and Newcrest...same price at they were in 2016 Eldorado....50% less than it was in 2016 Alamos....up 50% from 2016 levels is the lone exception In the meantime how many mines have gone BK? You can't cherry pick data.  If you do then so will I Pure Gold....A ZERO Klondex....care and mantenence  Both were super high grade underground Westdome....super high grade barely ...more

FWIW, Mining.com mining.com published an article back in May 2019 which ranked the top 10 lowest cost gold mines in the world based on 2018 AISC:   1 Svetloye (open-pit) $425/oz   2 Fosterville (underground) $442/oz   3 Olimpiada (open pit) $468/oz   4 Voro (open-pit) $477/oz   5 South Arturo (open pit) $478/oz   6 Long Canyon (open-pit) $505 ...more

Correction to my pervious post: "Of course, a mine can be quite profitable at AISC's lower than these and I suspect there are many, both open pit and underground, that fit this bill..." obviously should have read "Of course, a mine can be quite profitable at AISC's higher than these and I suspect there are many, both open pit and underground, that fit this bill..."

Open pit is always preferable. Every mine is unique but there are certain things to always avoid....Hostile geographies which include climate and political.....Projects with no clear pathway to production and....narrow vein underground no matter how impressive the drill hole grades look.  Klondex had 2 of the highest grade mines in the world in Nevada...they folded...sold to Hecla and now ...more

IAU also has open pit material if I am not mistaken...not just an underground operation...which happens to be high grade??

All miners always post the top holes....scroll down and look at the table that shows all the holes and you'll see that the headline is always propaganda.  Check "true width"....check from what depth to what depth the intercept was made at....ask what mining method could be employed....don't ever rely on headlines if you want a true picture
Comment by metalhead666 on May 22, 2023 9:08am
Go review the press release from Feb23.....mostly junk....600 meters below the surface....you will make a big mistake if you focus on any headline drill results from any miner....they are BS and propaganda. You have to look at the entire batch and consider the "deposit" as a whole. There are numerous low grade, narrow results nearly 2000' down.  GL mining that junk at a profit.& ...more

i take it you havent looked at the grades being mined at cowal underground, odyssey underground and rainy river underground if youre calling this junk... they are mining 2-3 gram gold these were all underground mines off existing pits like IAU has with archimedes you make yourself look dumber with each post written quit while ur behind

Rainy River has flirted with disaster for years.....try honesty....any fool can cherry pick but that doesn't tell the whole truthful story does it?

Pure Gold Bought at .60 sold at 2.90 Wesdome Bought at 2.95 sold at $13 Some of my best gains came from these underground mines you mentioned above. I could go on and on. You have to know when to buy and when to sell.  Right now I am buying IAU not SKE nor ATG.
