Now that a) infections have increased Pfizer/BionTech got more proof that the vaccine was efficient and b) the US election is behind us FDA feels confident to approve the vaccine without beeing blamed of yielding to Trump's pressure or c) some civil servants delayed the decision ao that Trump would not get a positive win just before the election. However this is just pure speculation but simce many hate Trump I guess they would be ready to do anything to fight his reelection.
